We found footings
Met with Bill M. and Dave M. today for initial evaluation. First task was to see if we have footings under the garage. Yes. Pounded this pipe into ground starting with the 20-inch planter height. The tape shows we hit the footer at about 62 inches, so at around 42 inches deep (about 3.5 feet) the footer starts.
Also today the city planning contact (Kris Aaker) OK'd the extension of our existing roof line to go over the garage and a new deck provided that the deck doesn't come to 5 feet of any property edge.

Fun Doing Yardwork
Sailing with Alex
Here are photos from our first time sailing with the boat. It has remote control for the rudder and for the sail stings to pull in and loosen the sails. The wind does the rest! The sail is about 1 meter (about 3 feet) tall, plus the keel which makes the whole boat a bit more than 6 feet tall. We bought the boat used from the east coast.

Food Therapies
What I'm learning is that people might have some nutritional needs that will make a difference. People in difficult situations may or may not benefit from some of the suggestions, but we should log food and try different combinations to see what helps. However overall I am seeing common findings across almost all studies: Eliminate or remove processed foods & sugars. Eliminate pesticides and synthetic additives. Whole, natural foods are good. Some people may benefit from gluten/casein free diets.

Health Update: Day 23
Yesterday I took measurements and photos. I published it, but then was too afraid of how awful they looked...I just can't stomach (sorry about the word choice) the way my "before" pictures look. I feel like I need some progress pictures or "after" pictures before I can publish the starting point.
So having recently completed 3 weeks of my new routine (weight lifting alternated with days of cardio), I am finally able to see 2 pounds dropped ... 216 to 214. According to my goals I can reach 172 by middle June if I lose approximately 2 pounds of fat per week. Because I will be expanding muscle also, the next fat loss will be higher than the overall pounds lost.
I'm visiting the YMCA for some of my workouts but most of them are on the driveway doing jump rope (20 minutes of jump rope per session) or weights with the adjustable dumbbells -- those are great, by the way. Finally that old weight bench is getting regular use!
